This weekend I attended the PHP North West conference where I talked about Open Source opportunities again together with Stefan Koopmanschap. It was my first conference since quitting development.
It’s amazing how many clichés you can see.
I don’t mean to be disrespectful! Yet it amazes me every time how a large group of mainly non-conformists can form such a homogenic picture. Just how many clichés can you fit into a few hundred developers?
Maybe it’s the fact that I happen to mix much more with people wearing suits at work that I get so aware of the unwritten developer codex.
Still I feel very comfortable within this group and I still feel being a part of it and I’m sure I didn’t stick out at all.
You guys rock!
PS: Thanks to the phpnw12 team for having me. The whole organisation was awesome!
