A few weeks ago I finally got an upgrade for my company phone and switched a buggy old Blackberry for an iPhone 5. I was never really keen on getting one but since I have one now why not compare it to my Galaxy Note 2?

Finally got GeexBox XBMC running on SolidRun CuBox

Home alone on a sunday one finds the time to sit down with his pet projects. So I spent some time with my CuBox again and reinstalled GeexBox. Not sure what I did differently this time but..
..it seems to work nicely.
Within the publishing industry that I work in as well as many others management seems to envision a bright future getting their brands and products onto smartphones and tablets. Many digital strategies revolve around the web, mobile and tablets.
Chances are these strategies fall short.

Since I have my Galaxy Note 2 with me all the time and the Note 10.1 at home I have no more need for my Kindle Fire so I decided to pass it onto my parents who until now don’t own a tablet.
However unless your parents are geeks or US citizen the kindle is pretty useless.

Replacing paper with Evernote on my Samsung GALAXY Note 2

A few days in with my new GALAXY Note 2 I started using Evernote again. I did before on my Kindle Fire but after a few weeks I started using paper notebooks again when going to a meeting.
7 inch was just too much to be carried with you.
While the Note 10.1 is a great device for the sofa or the hotel bed when on holidays I want to take the same comfort with me in a smartphone.
So I got myself the Note 2.
I have to say I love my new toy! Especially the handwriting recognition with the S-Pen is an amazing feature.
It’s faster than typing!

Usually I don’t even read mails that state YOU WON! Lucky me that Samsung actually called me on the phone to make sure I got the email. Yesterday Samsung held a PR event for its new GALAXY Note 10.1 tablet together with the network Xing (German LinkedIn competitor). Out of 4.000 participants about 50 have won one of those.
And I was one of the lucky few.
It’s been a while since I wrote something about my Cubox. To be honest I didn’t do much with it. In fact I was pretty disappointed with it
But yesterday I tried it once again.
A few days ago I finally received my SolidRun Cubox. I guess within the next weeks I will write the odd post about my experience with it. So this is likely to be the start of a new series.
Lets start with my setup and plans.
