A long time ago I had the idea to place adverts on testically.org for the sole reason of learning about advertising mechanics a bit more. Because I know this will annoy you I planned to use the incoming money to sponsor something Open Source.

I’m about to start this now.

Yesterday I went to an event by the Social Media Club Hamburg about how mobile is changing brand communication. It was a short series of presentations followed by a discussion about mobile strategies and piggy backing social media like Facebook.

What stuck with me was the claim that building up a fan base is superior to classical brand marketing.

Facebook

When I wrote down my predictions for 2012 one of the things I anticipated was Facebook creating an ad network to serve social ads off of Facebook on other websites.

Apparently preparations seem to be getting final.
