Use inversion of control to shape up your project!

When you’re working in a fairly big corporation chances are that in almost every project many departments are directly or indirectly involved which results in more communication and coordination efforts.
Some projects however need to be as quick as possible and can not afford to wait.
Bad managers try to make things happen by applying pressure, by ignoring hierarchies and well established processes, without providing necessary input and by using their principal as an excuse for doing so.
Standing up to their claims can not be wrong.

Harsh conditions on your service provider might backfire

When working with external service providers like agencies at some point you will need a contract in which you want to manifest everything that seems important to you.
But you can exaggerate with the things you want to fix.
Just into the fifth sprint of my Scrum project I can sum up what I think about my life as a product owner. The experience has largely been a positive one with only few negatives.
However being a product owner doesn’t cut it for me.
Many of you will adore the idea of Scrum and might have had a good experience with it so far. However I think it highly depends on your working environment if Scrum can actually be of help.
When needing fixed deadlines for example.

Any web project, well any project really, should be done by a team that includes developers and project managers or product owners alike and they should act like a team.
As it often turns out this will not be the case when problems occur.

You might have experienced a situation where you needed to get a decision quickly but had to negotiate with many participants with various availabilities. I seem to be in this kind of situation constantly.

And while we’re at it… – real world requirement management

Any good project starts out with a nicely shaped idea. Then they are transformed into single steps as user stories or tickets or whatever and then implementation follows.
Each of these steps are prone to wild growth. The while-we’re-at-it syndrome.
